From left to right they are: WALK This command lets you point and click where you want to go. There are several options across the top of the screen. You may also bring this menu on (and incidentally puase the game) by pressing ESCAPE. While playing the game, moving the mouse to the very top of the game screen will cause the menu to appear. Hopefully, the mouse was enabled for this game and you may click around as you like.
=-= Basics of Point & Click =-= The in-game tutorial shows you how most of the game works. If you have difficulties, you know who to ask! As you can see, having a mouse greatly helps in playing the game. The decimal point causes the menu to appear, the Number Pad ENTER confirms choices, and the number five on the Number Pad cycles through all the commands. The zero on the pad cycles between WALK and the last command chosen. Plainly speaking, the numbers (arranged like a calculator) moves your character. If not, the game uses the Number Pad (which may involve other difficulties on your laptop) to move your character. Once the game is running, the mouse should work. Start the game by typing KQ6CD and hitting return. Unless the default pathname was changed (i.e., by you!), input the command CD \SIERRA and hit RETURN.
Remember this command since the game will cause the DOS pop-up to expand to full size. Instead of clicking the "X" to close a DOS pop-up, input the word EXIT and hit RETURN. YES NOshortcut to run the game, so click the START MENU and select the RUN option.
